If seafood are what you're after, look no further: You'll find a new California Fish Grill location at 8285 Mira Mesa Blvd., Suite 2.

The California chain, which has locations throughout the state, features wild rockfish, Atlantic salmon, battered fish and chips, rainbow trout, Cajun-seared ahi tuna, Louisiana delta catfish, calamari and seared scallops, among other options. Sides include kale slaw, french fries and New England clam chowder.

With a four-star rating out of 14 reviews on Yelp so far, the new locale is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Jennifer H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Oct. 7, wrote, "I had the classic combo with fries and grilled zucchini. The seasoning on the breaded shrimp was very nice, and the breading was not heavy. The fish portions were huge, not heavily battered, and the fish was about an inch thick. Very tender and juicy."

And Douglas V. wrote, "I had the battered shrimp taco combo. The batter is crunchy and adds a nice crunchy texture to the taco. The Brussels sprouts were another standout for me; they're balsamic-glazed, which is a personal favorite of mine."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. California Fish Grill is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Wednesday and 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Thursday-Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
