California governor, other state officials, warn schools against banning books

California Governor Gavin Newsom and other state officials have a stern warning to school administrators: Do not follow the red states' lead when it comes to banning books. In a letter issued Thursday, state officials say the removal of materials in some cases may "constitute unlawful discrimination," and parents have come out in support of the governor's letter.
