California gym owner was convicted of hiding a camera in bathroom. Now a new gym opened in its spot

A new gym has opened in the San Luis Obispo spot formerly occupied by CCC Fitness after its owner was convicted of three crimes stemming from a hidden camera investigation.

Cole Corrigan, who owned CCC Fitness, pleaded guilty to two privacy charges and a felony gun charge after he admitted to hiding a camera in the bathroom of his gym. He is scheduled to be sentenced to a year in jail and two years of probation on Dec. 19.

CCC Fitness closed sometime between Oct. 25 and Nov. 28, and Corrigan placed the gym up for sale on Instagram on Oct. 31.

Peak Fitness SLO has taken over the location at 81 Higuera St. with an expected opening later this month. According to documents from California’s Secretary of State, the Peak Fitness Group LLC was established Nov. 22.

The new gym’s owner, Marisa Grieco, has no personal or professional connections with Corrigan, a spokesperson told The Tribune in an email. Grieco is the sole person in leadership at Peak Fitness SLO.

The email said the gym will offer 24/7 access, infrared sauna and cold plunge sessions, as well as personal trainers and group fitness classes.

According to the gym’s website, Grieco has a background in energy healing, mindfulness and personal development.

“Her approach combines traditional fitness offerings with a broader perspective on wellness, emphasizing the importance of a well-rounded approach to health,” the website said.

Grieco hopes the gym will become a “wellness hub” where members can explore various aspects of health and fitness in a welcoming and empowering environment.

The gym is not Grieco’s first health and wellness venture. According to her personal website, she offers spiritual journey coaching, which includes courses, videos, meditations and live events.

“(Grieco’s) journey, marked by personal transformation and a deep commitment to holistic well-being, has equipped her with unique insights into fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle,” Peak Fitness SLO’s website said.

According to the website, the gym will offer a free week with no strings attached for new members. A membership then costs $60 per month, or $660 for the year. The gym also offers cold plunge and sauna memberships.

An exact date for the gym’s opening has not been announced, but according to Peak Fitness SLO’s Instagram, the gym is “coming soon” this month.
