California Lutheran University honors class of 2023 as graduation season gets going

More than 1,200 California Lutheran University students gathered their degrees Friday as graduation season gets rolling in Ventura County.

On a sunny spring day amid thousands of family and friends, more than 770 undergraduates crossed the stage and accepted their bachelor's degrees in an 8:30 a.m. ceremony at William Roland Stadium on the Thousand Oaks campus. Many students decorated their caps with personal messages of encouragement like "Just did it" and "Don't stop me now."

A few hours later, the stadium hosted nearly 450 graduate students and their loved ones as the university bestowed master's and doctoral degrees.
