California partners with Apple, T-Mobile to help close digital divide among students

As many California students go back to school with distance learning, the state is taking more steps to close the digital divide. It just secured a million devices for students.Schools have experienced a shortage of laptops, tablets and wireless hotspots to keep students connected, as they learn from home. Now, the California Department of Education is partnering with two big companies -- Apple and T-Mobile -- to connect up to a million students who need the technology to do their schoolwork.
