California Powerball winner for $1.08B lottery drawing, $1M ticket sold in Illinois

A single Powerball ticket purchased in California was deemed Wednesday night's lottery winner worth an estimated $1.08 billion, with a cash option of $558.1 million.

It's been one heck of a Lottery Week.

The Powerball win was the nation's sixth-largest lottery prize of all time. There have been a total of seven jackpots between Powerball and Mega Millions that have surpassed $1 billion.

The Mega Millions jackpot continued its rise toward $1 billion after nobody matched all six numbers Tuesday, rolling over to $720 million, with a cash option of $369.6 million. The prize sits just outside the country's all-time top 10 jackpots.

The winning California Powerball ticket was sold at Las Palmitas Mini Market, 1205 Wall St., Los Angeles.

The winning numbers for Wednesday night's drawing are 7, 10, 11, 13, 24, and the Powerball is 24. The Power Play was 2X.

There were 36 tickets matching all five numbers except for the Powerball worth $1 million. They were sold in California (7), New York (5), Florida (4), Texas (4), Massachusetts (3), Maryland (2), New Jersey (2), Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

Three tickets matched all five numbers except for the Powerball and added the Power Play worth $2 million. They were bought in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.

Where was the winning Powerball ticket sold in Illinois on 7/19/23?

One of the 36 million-dollar tickets was sold was purchased in Illinois. The Illinois Lottery said the winning $1 million ticket was bought in at Williams Liquor, 925 S. York Road, Elmhurst.
