These California spots are among Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in the US, Yelp says
Yelp just released its rankings of the Top 100 Romantic Restaurants for Valentine’s Day Dinner in 2024 — and nearly 20 California eateries are on the list.
It’s an “all-time list of the most romantic places to eat in the United States,” the popular review site said.
Of the 19 California eateries that earned spots, two are on the Central Coast, three are in Northern California and 14 are in Southern California.
On the Central Coast, Barrel 33 ranked at No. 8 on the Yelp list, with reviewers praising the French restaurant’s impeccable service, “utterly charming” ambiance and delectable dishes such as smoked salmon pasta, barbecue chicken pizza and creme brulee.
It’s “the stuff memorable meals are made of,” Yelp reviewer Mark P of Tulsa, Oklahoma, wrote.
Loquita, a Spanish tapas restaurant in Santa Barbara, landed at No. 29
The menu ranges from classic tapas such as Spanish octopus, patatas bravas and gambas al ajillo to paella dishes with chicken, pork chops or seafood.
Boasting a “beautiful back open air patio with fireplace, bougainvillea and string lights,” the restaurant is “very romantic,” Arshi K of Reno, Nevada, wrote on Yelp.
In the Sacramento area, Milestone in El Dorado Hills earned a ranking of No. 34.
The restaurant offers dinner options such as seared scallops, French onion pasta and a grilled bone-in chop with sauteed apples, winter squashes and butter beans.
Yelp reviewer Regina V of El Dorado Hills praised the restaurant’s “good food, good service and great ambiance,” calling it a “great location for a special gathering or romantic moment,” said Regina V, from El Dorado Hills, on the Yelp.
How did Yelp rank Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in US?
To determine who made the top 100 list of romantic restaurants, the popular review website identified restaurants across the United States with “a large concentration of reviews” that mentioned phrases such as “romantic,” “date night” and “valentine.”
Those restaurants were then ranked by the “total volume and ratings of reviews” with those keywords.
A maximum of five restaurants per city were chosen to provide “geographic diversity,” Yelp said
