U.S. Senate hopeful Rep. Adam Schiff on Monday maintained California remains his primary residence despite reports indicating his full-time home is in Maryland. "I think just about every member of Congress has a residence in their state and a residence back in D.C. since we're in session much of the week," Schiff told KCRA 3. "People make a family decision where they're going to have their kids, but our principal residence -- our primary residence -- is in California. Always has been and always will be." Schiff made the comments in Salinas after his first public appearance and fundraiser since the reports surfaced last week. CNN reported mortgage records show Schiff owns a 650-square-foot condo in Burbank and a 3,420-square-foot home in Maryland, where he raises his children. When KCRA 3 asked how he'll respond to those who question if he understands the California experience while he raises his children and owns a significantly larger home in Maryland, Schiff replied, "I think honestly it's a non-issue."
