Californians 16 and up now eligible for vaccine

All California residents age 16 and up are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination starting Thursday. Gov. Gavin Newsom says April 15 is "vax day" instead of "tax day." (April 15)

GAVIN NEWSOME: As we announce today that every Californian is now eligible, regardless of their age 16 and over, to receive and have access to vaccines. Today marks three milestones of sorts. Today, not one county in California is in the purple tier. Every single county in the state of California is out of the most restrictive tier.

Number two, roughly 50%-- half of the population in the state of California that is eligible to receive a vaccine has done so. April 15 officially 2021 in the state of California is not tax day. It's vax day. The challenge is that this state has designed a system where we can administer six million doses. But this week, we're only receiving 1.9 million. The challenge is manufactured supply.
