Some Californians may need to re-register to vote before presidential primary

Thousands of independent voters are getting postcards in the mail notifying them that to participate in California's March 3 presidential primary, they must proactively ask for a cross-over ballot, allowing them to vote in the Democratic or Libertarian primary. Many people don't realize they have to sign a form to vote in the Democratic primary in March. Those who want to vote in the Republican primary must re-register as a Republican.
