The feel-good British hit Call the Midwife will soon be headed to our TVs once again. The show's ninth season will get its U.S. premiere on PBS on March 29. But while we wait for all of the triumphs, tears, and personal trials that are sure to follow the midwives of Nonnatus House, fans are already starting to wonder what the future has in store for Poplar's busiest ladies. Here's everything we know so far about what's next for the beloved series.

Will the show get a season 10?

The good news for Midwife fans is that there will be no anxious wait to see whether there will be more seasons about the adventures of Nonnatus House. The show's social media confirmed at the end of season 8 that BBC One had picked up the show for seasons 9, 10, and 11.

So far there hasn't been much more information released about the future seasons, though it has been confirmed that, as with previous installments, seasons 10 and 11 will each consist of 8 hour-long episodes and a Christmas special.

When will the next season premiere?

It's not clear when season 10 will make its way to our screens, but we do know that the show is projected to be on the air until at least 2022. Given that season 9 started filming in the spring of 2019 and premiered this January, it seems likely that we won't be seeing more of Poplar's favorite midwives until next year.
