Call the Midwife's Jenny Agutter shares "concern" for Sister Monica Joan

Call the Midwife's annual Christmas special is coming up in just a few weeks, and actress Jenny Agutter has revealed that we should keep an eye on one character in particular.
Speaking ahead of the long-running historical medical drama's festive return, the Sister Julienne actress has teased there will be a big focus on Sister Monica Joan (played by Judy Parfitt) and her worries about the future.
"Sister Julienne is always worried about Nonnatus House, although we're in a pretty good place financially, and she's got ideas about the future," she said.

"And the only other concern, as winter approaches, is Sister Monica Joan. Winter is tough — something you need to get through, and Sister Monica Joan feels she's not going to get through it and won't be there next year."
Agutter added: "She is very low, very depressed, and it is up to Sister Julienne to help her see that there is no reason to believe these dark thoughts and that there is a great deal of vitality in her."

A lot of the show's most recent series dealt with Sister Monica Joan feeling underappreciated by her fellow nuns, as well as suffering from a bout of hepatitis. We all thought the fan-favourite character was likely to leave the show, but thankfully, that didn't happen.
Will that change come Christmas, or will Sister Monica Joan stick around?
