SWANSEA — Looking for a Pinterest-worthy porch design this holiday season?

SouthCoast Pumpkin Co. has got you and your design dreams covered.

The Swansea-based business is run by owner and designer Alyssa Joyce (who preferred to be referred to with her first and middle names in this story).

Alyssa Joyce offers unique holiday designs so that her customers can have the holiday porch decor of their dreams.

This fall, she also offered custom pumpkin packages.

One of her fall customers was a local NFL player: Captain David Andrews, who plays center for the New England Patriots.

It all began with Alyssa’s passion for home decor, as she states on her website:

“My passion for DIY started when we bought our first home in December of 2019 and I had a lot of visions for projects I wanted to do that I figured I could try to do myself. Turns out, I enjoyed having the creative outlet to enhance our home and was pretty good at it!”

Now, Alyssa has put together some packages for the holiday season.

SouthCoast Pumpkin Co. currently has greenery packages that are sure to create festive and stunning porch designs for the holidays.

From fresh garland, to terracotta planters, wreaths, door swag, and even mini Christmas trees, Alyssa offers various holiday packages, as well as an option to customize.

It’s all about creating something beautiful for her clients, as well as making their lives a bit easier:

“I recently had my daughter eight months ago and left my corporate job to focus on raising her but decorating is my true passion,” Alyssa told The Herald News. “A lot of people do not have the time or patience to figure out how to perfectly put everything together for their own home between their busy work schedules and holiday to-do list. It brings me so much joy to spread seasonal cheer through decor, whether it be pumpkins or holiday greens to our neighbors, friends, and local businesses!”

The displays are put together by a team of two: Alyssa and her husband Kurt.

As of this writing, there are still a few spots open, for anyone who would like a holiday design, but you’ll have to act fast, as SouthCoast Pumpkin Co. will be offering them through Dec. 15.

“Creating an inviting design for families and their guests to enjoy this holiday season while they focus on the rest of their to-do list is my main priority! There is nothing like the smell of fresh greenery greeting you at the door to put you in the holiday spirit,” Alyssa said.

They also offer end-of-season pickup, which is both convenient and will go to a good cause:

“End of season pickup is highly encouraged!” Alyssa said. “We donated 200-plus pumpkins to our local farm animals at Stony Creek Farm and plan to donate all of the holiday greens as well.”

Alyssa and her husband enjoy watching Hallmark Christmas movies, and this was a way to bring some of that picturesque magic into the real world while they work to spread joy to others.

“This is a way for us to recreate and bring that Hallmark magic to their front porches,” she said.
