Calling all fans: Orrville Library hosts Fandom Week, Chip Challenge

The following are upcoming events and programs at Orrville Public Library.

Fandom Week

Calling all Doctor Who, Avengers, Lord of the Rings, sports, etc. fans! Join us at Orrville Public Library for Fandom Week, Oct. 23 - 28. Patrons are encouraged to dress as their favorite character or wear themed attire. Teens and adults can complete activities to earn prize entries for fun, fandom-themed prizes. Children will use stickers to vote for their favorite characters.

Stations will include Sports, Space & Time, Sword & Sorcery, Superheroes, Stories, and Screen Fans. No registration is needed, stop by any time during library hours.

Chip Challenge

So, you think being a teen makes you a potato chip expert? Come to Orrville Public Library to put your taste buds to the test with a Mystery Chip Challenge! Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to try to guess the different flavors of uncommon chips. Please be aware that food items may contain allergens. By allowing your child to attend this program, parents/guardians waive Orrville Public Library responsibility for any allergic reactions.

This free event will be on 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26. No registration is needed.

Fall Book Review

If you are interested in learning what new books will be coming out this fall, Orrville Public Library's Trendy Titles program will fill you in. Staff will share books from a variety of genres that are up-and-coming in the publishing world. This is the perfect venue for starting your Christmas wish list!

This free program will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. Registration is preferred but walk-ins are welcome. Registration can be completed online beginning October 23 by clicking on the program title on our website calendar, www.orrville.lib.oh.us, or by contacting the Information Desk at 330-683-1065.
