WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Instead of a victory speech in New Hampshire Tuesday night, former President Donald Trump took the stage at his watch party to attack and insult former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley for staying in the race.

However, Haley said she’s not going anywhere, at least until after the primary in her home state of South Carolina next month.

“If Joe Biden wins, you can count on a President Kamala Harris,” Haley said Wednesday. “And we can’t promise Donald Trump will win.”

But as the race for the GOP nomination heads to warmer weather, more Republicans are cooling on Haley.

“Him [Trump] being the nominee at this point is virtually a certainty,” said U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt, (R-Mo.).

Schmitt and U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, (R-Fla.), had previously endorsed Trump, arguing his record cements his spot as the GOP presidential candidate.

“When you run against him, what are you gonna run on?,” Scott asked. “Do you have a better plan to secure the border or build a better economy or keep us out of war?”

At a campaign event Wednesday, President Joe Biden said Trump’s record is precisely why Americans should vote Democrat.

“He’s the only president other than Herbert Hoover who lost jobs when he was president!,” Biden said.

South Carolina’s Democratic primary is Feb. 3, while the Republican primary is Feb. 24.
