Calls grow for Omar Ameen to be released

Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg and several other members of the city council have called for immigration officials to free Omar Ameen after a federal judge called a terrorism case against the Sacramento refugee "dubious" and ordered him released. In a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the Sacramento officials wrote that Ameen has been "wrongly scapegoated by the Trump administration in an attempt to destroy the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program."
