The California Department of Transportation continues its work to rehabilitate 59 miles of lanes, ramps and drainage systems on Interstate 15 in the High Desert.

The project that began in November spans from Oak Hill Road in Hesperia to just south of Bear Valley Road in Victorville.

Caltrans crews will continue excavation, grinding and paving operations going both north and southbound.

From Monday through Aug. 12, and on northbound I-15 from Oak Hill Bear Valley roads, there will be alternating lane closures, possibly bringing lanes down to one.

From 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. during the week, all on and off ramps are subject to intermittent closures for crew safety and related roadwork.

During the same week and between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. on southbound I-15 from Bear Valley to Oak Hill road, there will be alternating lane closures, possibly bringing lanes down to one.

All on- and off-ramps are subject to intermittent closures for crew safety and related roadwork.

All lanes will be open by 9 a.m. on Aug. 13.

Also, there will be possible connector closures at the I-15 to Highway 395 during striping operations. To avoid delays, use Hwy. 138 to Hwy. 18 in Phelan back to I-15 as a detour.

Caltrans officials are asking commuters to use caution and to reduce speed when approaching and driving through the construction zone.

The entire project is expected to be completed in early 2025.

Visit the Caltrans District 8's Facebook and Twitter accounts or the agency's website for additional updated information.

Motorists can plan commutes and view live traffic conditions and planned lane closures by using the Caltrans' QuickMap.
