Calvary senior and Louisiana Tech commitment Landry Lyddy has been named the Gatorade Louisiana Football Player of the Year, the organization announced Tuesday.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Lyddy led the Cavaliers to the 2020 LHSAA Division IV state title and back to the semifinals last week. The 2020 Shreveport Times Quarterback of the Year passed for 4,247 yards and 53 touchdowns this season for coach Rodney Guin.

“It’s exciting. That’s a huge honor. There have been some great players win that award,” said Guin, who coached Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
