Calvin, Hope to start NCAA Tournament play

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — It’s officially time to get ready for March Madness.

The NCAA Division III men’s basketball tournament starts March 1 and two MIAA universities have a chance at the title.

Hope and Calvin men’s basketball both clinched a berth in the tournament. Hope got an automatic bid after winning the MIAA tournament. The Dutch open the NCAA tournament against Anderson at Case Western Reserve University. Calvin starts its run against Elmhurst at John Carroll University.

MIAA foe Trine University will also compete in the tournament.

Hope women

After losing in the MIAA tournament title game, Hope women’s basketball has another chance at a bigger trophy.

Hope got an NCAA DIII tournament bid Monday. The Dutch open the tournament against Ripon on March 1 at DePauw.
