Cambridge Schools approves personnel items at recent meeting

The Cambridge City School District Board of Education considered several personnel recommendations during the board of education meeting Tuesday night. The highlight was the hiring of Logan McCort as the head girls’ basketball coach for Cambridge High School.

McCort, an intervention specialist at Cambridge Intermediate School, has served as boys’ junior varsity coach for the past two seasons and has been coaching in the district for five years.

In other athletic moves, Sawyer Leppla was approved as head wrestling coach, Daniel Clifford was approved as head swim coach, Kyle Pertuset as head boys’ basketball coach, and Jenna Babcock was approved as an athletic volunteer.

  • Treasurer recommendations to execute a Sewer Easement Agreement with the City of Cambridge where the new bus garage is located; a Food Service Management contract with the Nutrition Group; and the Sheakley Group to serve as the District's Third-Party Administrator (TPA) and Managed Care Organization (MCO) for the Bureau of Workers' Compensation.

The board also approved resolutions to enter into a memorandum of understanding with Kidd Consultants to provide support for Cambridge City Schools 21st Century Community Learning Center program; to approve Middle School History and High School Science textbooks; approved the meal and mileage reimbursement rates while traveling for the school districts on business; approved entering into an agreement with East Central Career Programs, LLC for summer youth paid work experience program; and an agreement with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville.

The board approved an out-of-state trip for members of the FCCLA Club to the National FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Denver, Colorado, in July.

The next board meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 22 at the new Transportation Facility, 1431 Wills Creek Valley Drive. The board meeting will follow a 5 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony and an open house at the facility.
