Camden girls hit 100-point mark again. Lower Richland teams knock off ranked opponents
For the third time in the last two years and second time this season, the Camden girls basketball team hit the century mark again.
South Carolina signee Joyce Edwards scored 39 points as the top-ranked Bulldogs defeated Marlboro County, 103-32, on Friday night to improve to 15-2 on the season.
Other highlights from Friday night’s basketball action:
▪ Lower Richland girls and boys got big Region 5-3A wins on Friday. The LR boys defeated Orangeburg-Wilkinson, 45-31 and LR girls defeated O-W, 62-28. O-W boys and girls were both ranked No. 3 in latest SC Basketball Coaches polls. With the win, L-R boys and girls are both in first place in Region 5-3A.
▪ AC Flora boys hit 16 3-pointers in the 90-42 win over Lugoff-Elgin. The 16 3s were one of a season-high set against Dreher.
▪ Westwood boys didn’t have a letdown after knocking off Ridge View earlier in the week and defeated defending state champion Irmo, 50-39.
