Cameron Mitchell announces new Downtown steakhouse, Bon Vie replacement

Cameron Mitchell Restaurants have announced two new dining concepts coming to Columbus.

The first, referred to as a "new concept for Columbus," will be a new steakhouse Downtown inside the renovated PNC Plaza tower, which is set to feature a sunken outdoor plaza connected to a lower-level restaurant and a second restaurant on the tower's main floor. The new steakhouse will be around the corner from Mitchell's Steakhouse, which Cameron Mitchell Restaurants sold several years ago.

A second concept, to be in the former home of Bon Vie at 4089 The Strand E. at Easton Town Center, will be a fine-dining Mediterranean concept. The long-vacant space, in full view of the center's Central Park Fountain, is currently being renovated.

"Any day that you can confirm a Cameron Mitchell restaurant is coming to Easton Town Center is a terrific day," said Beau Arnason, executive vice president of asset performance at Steiner + Associates, Easton Town Center's co-developer and manager, in a statement.

"Easton has been home to Mitchell’s Ocean Club for 20 years, and it continues to be a favorite for our customers. We cannot wait to add another Cameron Mitchell Restaurant at this very high-profile location overlooking the fountain."

Bon Vie closed in early 2020, after its parent company, FoodFirst Global Restaurants, filed for bankruptcy.

Neither of the new Cameron Mitchell concepts has a name or estimated opening date. However, two other Cameron Mitchell Restaurants are on the horizon: Valentina's, a "polished-casual" restaurant serving Northern Italian-inspired food in Dublin's Bridge Park, and Cento, another Italian concept set to open at 595 S. Third St., at the former home of G. Michael's in German Village. Both are expected to open this year.
