Camila Alves McConaughey onboard turbulent flight from Austin that injured 7

Camila Alves McConaughey, model and wife of actor Matthew McConaughey, revealed via Instagram Reel that she was onboard a flight Wednesday night out of Austin that underwent severe turbulence.

Lufthansa Flight 469 left Austin with a course set for Frankfurt, Germany. At 37,000 feet above Tennessee, the plane hit intense turbulence and made an emergency landing at Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Virginia.

McConaughey claimed in the caption of her Instagram reel that the plane dropped nearly 4,000 feet.

"Everything was flying everywhere," she wrote. "To respect the privacy of those around me that’s all I am showing but the plane was a CHAOS And the turbulence keep on coming."

Seven people sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals, but the injuries are reportedly minor, according to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

McConaughey said in her caption that she spent the night at the Marriott Bonvoy near the airport, and her new flight is scheduled for today.

The airline Lufthansa said they are working to rebook the injured passengers.
