Camila Cabello brings dad to tears with heartfelt Grammys performance

Camila Cabello may be a Grammy-nominated artist who has topped the charts and toured the world, but she will always be daddy's little girl.

The Latin musician, 22, dedicated an emotional performance of "First Man" at the 2020 Grammy Awards to "the first man that really loved me," her father, Alejandro Cabello.

In a pink gown draped in pink pearls, Cabello belted out the heartfelt ballad from her "Romance" album as home videos from her childhood played in the background. Toward the end of the song, Cabello walked into the audience to serenade her dad, who was overcome with emotion.

The father-daughter duo shared a warm embrace.

Cabello's performance also tugged on the heartstrings of Gwen Stefani, who wiped tears from her eyes.

Ahead of the Grammy Awards, Cabello shared a lengthy tribute to Bryant on her Instagram account, explaining how he "changed the course of my life."

"I’ve never been much of a sports fan but Kobe Bryant was a hero to me and it was his words and way of thinking and living that lifted me up during times where I felt like I couldn’t get off the ground," she wrote. " At my weakest moments I would channel a different person like he did, because when I felt broken and lost offstage, he taught me how to use my own pain, he taught me how to access strength I didn’t know I had, because on my worst days, I thought of Kobe and suddenly I could do things I didn’t think I could do."
