Camila Mendes and Charles Melton Have Reportedly Split Up

According to a source, the split occurred months ago.

Camila Mendes and Charles Melton have reportedly decided to take some time apart.

The Riverdale costars, who celebrated their one-year dating anniversary in August, reportedly made the decision to breakup so they could focus on their work, E! News reports.

According to a source with E!, the pair went their separate romantic ways a few months ago. "Their relationship escalated very quickly and they are taking time now to focus on their work and themselves," the source alleged. Based on their scheduling, which includes filming Riverdale and a number of other outside projects, both actors had felt stressed, the source alleged. "They both have movie projects separately and it's been a lot on both their plates," the source reported. "Nothing in particular happened, they just both felt busy and overwhelmed and it was a lot of pressure on them."

The source went on to note that the pair isn't letting the breakup impact Riverdale filming. "They are still in touch and both understand they need to be cordial while on set and throughout press for the show," E! News reports. "They have been filming together while being split and things have been normal. Everyone is very close on the show and are all very good friends. They can't ignore each other so they just remain cordial and try and focus on filming. They are still filming Riverdale season 4, but will have a break for the holidays for a few weeks."

It's important to note that the reported split remain just speculation for now, and neither Camila or Charles have publicly confirmed the rumors. It ultimately remains up to the Riverdale stars on whether they choose to address the reported breakup, and at this time, it's best to take the news with a grain of salt.
