Camilla Shares Her Reaction to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Move to Canada

From Town & Country

News about Harry and Meghan's decision to step back from their senior positions in the royal family has generally been released via a formal statement. The Queen has controlled the narrative, and even as the dust starts to settle on the negotiations about the Sussexes' choice, Prince William and Prince Charles have yet to personally comment on the news. (In fact, when Prince William was asked about Harry and Meghan during their appearance in Bradford, he "politely ignored" the question.)

But yesterday, Prince Harry's stepmother Camilla weighed in on her stepson's big move. While she visited Prospect Hospice in Swindon, a reporter asked her if she would miss Harry and Meghan. She responded simply "'course."

Some on Twitter are suggesting that Camilla is throwing shade at Harry and Meghan with her curt answer, but it's equally likely that she was annoyed to receive this question while meeting with staff at a hospice.

Watch the exchange in the video below:

Last night, Harry flew to Canada to reunite with Meghan and Archie, but before he left the UK, he shared some thoughts about his decision during a dinner benefitting Sentebale, the charity he co-founded.

"What I want to make clear is we’re not walking away, and we certainly aren’t walking away from you. Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible," he said.

"I’ve accepted this, knowing that it doesn’t change who I am or how committed I am. But I hope that helps you understand what it had to come to, that I would step my family back from all I have ever known, to take a step forward into what I hope can be a more peaceful life."
