Camp-Germann named to American Red Cross regional board

Dec. 8—ASHLAND — Ashland resident Elisabeth Camp-Germann has been named to the American Red Cross Philanthropic Board's Central Atlantic region, which includes Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, the District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland and Tennessee.

"I'm so honored and so humbled by this," Camp-Germann said, adding the local Red Cross chapter asked her to allow it to nominate her for the position. "I was super flattered."

She has been a board member for the Boyd County chapter for three years and is on the philanthropic committee and a member of Tiffany Circle, which is a group of women leaders and philanthropists who support the American Red Cross. In fact, she was the first Tiffany Circle member in the Tri-State Chapter; membership requires an annual donation of $10,000 or more to remain active.

She has helped with the collection of items for donation to veterans and promoting blood drives, as well as developing new and creative takes on fundraising. She also collaborated on projects like Holiday for Heroes and blood drives and marketing through her businesses.

As a Central Atlantic region board member and the first member from Appalachia, Camp-Germann said she will attend national and regional meetings and continue to find creative ways to encourage donations.

Her term will last at least three years and nine years at maximum.

Camp-Germann and her husband, Jason Camp, moved to the area about six years ago. They own Camp Landing Entertainment District, Cowboys & Angels, Tri-State Speech Therapy and The Cinema at Camp Landing.

A Florida native, Mrs. Camp-Germann has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida. After working in banking in Orlando, she was a stay-at-home mother for several years, traveling with her Army family. She put herself through graduate school as a single mother of three, and then opened her own speech therapy practice in Naples, Florida.

In 2013, she married Jason Camp, who has two sons. They moved together to Ashland in 2018 with five children and she opened her current private practice, Tri-State Speech Therapy, while her husband opened three successful restaurants. The couple purchased the old Kyova Mall in July 2021 and have spent the last two years renovating it and adding tenants such as Malibu Jacks, Smokin' J's, Backyard Pizza, The Cinema at Camp Landing, Splittin' Hairs Axe Throwing, Spirit Halloween and Tap That Sports.
