Student trustee

Payton Mentzer, South Heidelberg Township, was named to the Kutztown University Council of Trustees by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors.

Mentzer, a senior public relations major and Conrad Weiser High School graduate, served as assistant resident director and an intern for Residence Life, assisted with Bearfest and is a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America.

Research

Arisa Davis, Wyomissing, presented original research during Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Scholars Forum, part of IUP's Research Appreciation Week. Davis, a respiratory care major, received the IUP College of Health and Human Services outstanding presentation award for "How incentive spirometry techniques are being instructed among healthcare professionals." She also received a leadership award at IUP.

Study travel

Emma Groff, Boyertown, was part of a group of Alvernia University students who spent two weeks studying biodiversity & tropical ecology in Costa Rica with Associate Professor of Philosophy Dr. Josh Hayes and Associate Professor of Biology and Physical Therapy Dr. Eric Recktenwald.
