May 7—The following area students received academic awards at the Lebanon Valley College Inquiry celebration:

Love Award for Outstanding Achievement in Psychology; Wyatt Hetrick, Richmond Township, Freshman Achievement Award in Chemistry; Briley Cox, South Heidelberg Township, Design, Media, and Technology Academic Achievement Award; Megan Eberly, Tulpehocken Township, Cloyd H. Service awards

The following area students were recognized by Alvernia University's Holleran Center for Community and Global Engagement for performing more than 100 hours of service during their time at Alvernia:

Erica Burch, Leesport, Top Performer Award with 3,000 service hours; Beatriz Gonzalez, Reading, and Timothy Hornbuckle, Blandon, Franciscan Servant Leader Certification; Tyler Moran, Reading, Boscov's Reading Collegiate Scholar Award; Zachary Wanner, Blandon.

Fellowship winners

University of Wyoming students Olivia Poore of Douglassville and Kayla Wenzler, from Denver of Denver are taking part in the Wyoming Wildlife Fellowship Program, which supports students pursuing careers in wildlife and fisheries sciences with a $3,000 semester scholarship.

Each fellow is studying wildlife and fisheries biology and management or a related subject. Students in the program will participate in a semester seminar about the wildlife field; hold two paid summer internships with the Game and Fish Department; and participate and volunteer for various relevant experiences and opportunities in the wildlife field.

Honor societies

—Elise Westhafer, Reinholds, was inducted into the University of Scranton chapter of Phi Sigma Tau, the international honor society for students of philosophy. Westhafer is a senior neuroscience major.

—Dylan Correll, a graduate of Muhlenberg High School, has been inducted into the Lebanon Valley chapter of Gamma Sigma Epsilon, the national chemistry honor society.

—Alyssa Fontana, Douglassville; and Nicole Weinstein, Mohnton, were inducted into the University of Scranton chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society. Fontana is a junior operations management major. Weinstein is a senior accounting major.

—The following were initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi: Edward Brinson Jr., Bernville, Andrews University; Kylah Freeman, Womelsdorf, Iowa State University, Timothy Grassi, Reading, Penn State University; Jessica Hudak, St. Lawrence, Bloomsburg University; Arthur Karros, Morgantown, Penn State; Karin Long, West Reading, Penn State; Areona McFarlin, Sinking Spring, Bloomsburg; Cailyn Miller, Blandon, Lycoming College; Lestine Paye, Spring Township, Penn State; Derrick Thompson, Temple, University of Lynchburg.

—Anthony D. Defusco, Douglassville; and Zach Goodman, Shillington, were inducted into the Gamma Theta Upsilon geography honor society at Kutztown University.

—Lebanon Valley College inducted the following into its chapter of Sigma Alpha Pi honor society: Gina Coccia, Birdsboro, a graduate of Berks Catholic High School, communication sciences and disorders major; Spencer Reynolds, Gilbertsville, a graduate of Boyertown High School, biology major; Emily Lakin, Exeter Township, a graduate of Exeter High School, exercise science major; Camryn Cataldi, Exeter Township, a graduate of Exeter High School, communication sciences and disorders major.

—Lebanon Valley College inducted the following to its Phi Sigma Iota honor society for achievement in a foreign language, literature, or culture: Janalyn Gonzalez, Reading, a graduate of Muhlenberg High School, business administration and creative arts major; Yuliya Shepilo, Denver, a graduate of Cocalico High School, English major; Mary McClelland, Douglassville, a graduate of Daniel Boone High School, actuarial science major; Alexander Moyer, Gilbertsville, a graduate of Boyertown High School, economics. Emerson Gagnon, Wyomissing, a graduate of Wyomissing High School, communication sciences and disorders major.

Contest finalist

Justin DeMild of Douglassville was among the student entrepreneurs selected as finalists in Grove City College's Wolverine Venture Battle. The business pitch contest involves an evaluation by 56 independent reviewers: DeMild, a junior, pitched a sports college recruitment platform.
