Canal Winchester/Carroll news: Yellowbud Farm hosting Pelotonia fundraiser

Yellowbud Farm is holding a fundraiser for Pelotonia on the grounds located at 6780 Lithopolis-Winchester Road, Canal Winchester. The event takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. July 22.

Tickets are now on sale for $32. They can be purchased at DestinationCW.com. All tickets include food and beverages from Brewdog, Local Cantina, and Piada. Live music will be provided by Red Michel. Outdoor portable toilets will be provided by McDougald Research.

Kids under 12 are free (donations appreciated). Participants are asked to bring their own lawn chair or blanket There will be a raffle with all proceeds going to Pelotonia.

About Pelotonia: 100% of all participant-raised funds go toward innovative cancer research, including enhanced treatments and therapies. Pelotonia dollars help attract and retain the best talent in cancer research to explore high-impact breakthroughs that make cancer treatment less toxic and more effective.

Pelotonia's Fellowship Program empowers young innovators across academic fields and disciplines to pursue a career in cancer research including Immuno-Oncology.

SJXXIII Catholic Church

Saint John XXIII Catholic Church has partnered with Canal Winchester Human Services (CWHS) this summer to collect glue sticks and markers for local school children.

The Our Tools for School program is for students attending school in either the Canal Winchester or Bloom Carroll school district. St. John XXIII will collect glue sticks and markers through July 24. There will be a tote in the church for people to place their donations. Please bring your donation in before July 24 so church members can provide them to CWHS.

Music in the Park

City officials in Canal Winchester are planning for the next Music in the Park event. It will be held July 21 in historic downtown Canal Winchester.

There will be a Cruise-In Car Show, featuring live music by The Gas Pump Jockeys. Car Show Registration is free. Participants can register from 5 to 6 p.m. on event night. Space is limited to the first 50 vehicles.

Car show awards will include People’s Choice, Mayor’s Choice, Kid's Choice, Band’s Choice, Sponsor’s Choice, and Farthest Traveled.

Additional free activities include: balloon animals; live performances from the living statue; face painting by the CW Queens & Court; games and activities from Primrose School; and more. There will be a food truck providing meals at the event.
