Canandaigua skater wins bronze at Empire State Games

Canandaigua figure skater Emily Warren won a bronze medal in the Junior Ladies IJS figure skating event at the 43rd Empire State Winter Games in early February at Lake Placid.

The third-place finish qualified Warren to compete at the 2024 State Games of America in San Diego, Calif. Warren represents the Genesee Figure Skating Club and has competed in the US Figure Skating national qualifying series the last two years.

Warren is a senior at Canandaigua Academy and is on the high honor roll. She has been nominated by Canandaigua Academy to participate in the 1st Amendment 1st Vote program.

In addition to figure skating Emily has been on the CA swimming and diving team and qualified for the Section V championships in 2022 and 2023. She’s also been named to the All-Monroe County team the past two seasons.

Emily is coached by her mother Pamela Warren, Gary Jones and Tommy Litz, who skated in the 1964 Olympics.
