Cancer Challenge launches $6.2 million capital campaign

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Cancer Challenge hosted a luncheon on Wednesday with a big announcement.

The local nonprofit launched a $6.2 million capital campaign. The money will go towards getting the organization a headquarters and expanding its outreach.

During the luncheon, our Chelsea helms were privileged to conduct a live interview with a man who’s been directly impacted by the programs the Cancer Challenge funds.

The luncheon also heard from Jim von Gremp, who’s retired from Walmart, and Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders also shared a message.

“Cancer Challenge is community. The community is always at our heart, that’s who we serve and so we want to make sure that we have a long-term office building or a headquarters per se right in this area,” Cancer Challenge Executive Director Teresa Burke.

The cancer challenge has been around for 31 years and has invested more than $15 million in local programs.
