Candidate stopping in area cities

Aug. 2—Alexis Martinez Johnson, Republican candidate for U.S. Representative for New Mexico's Third Congressional District, will make a campaign swing through Clovis and Portales on Thursday and Friday, according to campaign information.

On Thursday, Johnson will make stops in Portales at:

— 7 a.m. at the Do Drop Inn, 123 S. Main St.

— 11:30 a.m. at Juanito's restaurant, 813 Ave. C.

— 5:30 p.m. at El Rancho restaurant, 813 Ave. C.

On Friday, Johnson has scheduled two stops in Clovis:

— 8 a.m. at Mamacita's restaurant, 1501 N. Pince St.

— 5:30 p.m., at the Rib Crib restaurant, 4020 N. Prince St.

Johnson is running against incumbent U.S. Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez for the U.S. House of Representatives seat.
