Candidates file for local spring elections; primary set for Oshkosh school board, at least 2 for Winnebago County Board

OSHKOSH – The 2022 spring non-partisan elections will feature a primary on the Oshkosh School Board and at least two primaries for the Winnebago County Board.

Candidates had until 5 p.m. Tuesday to file nomination papers to run in the spring election, which will be held on April 5. If a primary is needed, that will be held Feb. 15.

Oshkosh Area School District

School board (two seats): Incumbents Stephanie Carlin and Liz Szilagyi. Challengers Kelly DeWitt, Sara Noe, Casey Radtke and Matthew Tooke. A primary election will take place Feb. 15 to narrow the field to four candidates.

City of Oshkosh

Common Council (three seats): Incumbents Lynnsey Erickson, Michael Ford and Matt Mugerauer. Challenger Robert E. Wilcox.

City of Omro

  • Mayor: Incumbent Steve Jungwirth

  • Municipal judge: Incumbent Jeffrey L. Kratz

  • City Council (three seats): Incumbents Jason A. Reeves and Dave Wiese. Incumbent Cindy Ostrander had insufficient signatures and will not appear on the ballot.

School District of Omro

School Board (three seats): Incumbents Thomas Egan, Brian Loos and Shane Carter.

Winneconne Community School District

School Board (two seats): Incumbent Mark D. Kunde, and Megan M. Keller, Bonnie Blink and Jeff Jahnke. Incumbent Bob Ronk did not seek reelection.

Village of Winneconne

  • President: Incumbent Chris Boucher

  • Board of Trustees (two positions): Incumbent Steve Foster and challenger Brenda Kubasta. Incumbent Cory Mashak filed non-candidacy.

Winnebago County Board (two-year terms

  • District 1: Rachael Dowling. Incumbent Thomas Konetzke didn't seek reelection.

  • District 2: Open. Incumbent Michael Brunn didn't seek reelection.

  • District 3: Incumbent Thomas Borchart

  • District 4: Incumbent Paul Eisen

  • District 5: Katherine (Kay) Horan. Incumbent Shiloh Ramos didn't seek reelection.

  • District 6: Incumbent Brian Defferding

  • District 7: Rhonda Ellenberger and Kelly Fahrenkrug. Incumbent Steven Lenz didn't seek reelection.

  • District 8: Incumbent Jim Wise

  • District 9: Incumbent Donald Nussbaum

  • District 10: Incumbent Bryan Stafford

  • District 11: Incumbent David Albrecht and challenger Joshua Vincent

  • District 12: Incumbent Maribeth Gabert

  • District 13: Incumbent Steven Binder

  • District 14: Thomas Swan. Incumbent Kevin Konrad didn't seek reelection.

  • District 15: Krystopher Driscoll and Edward Michael Robinson. Incumbent Vicki Schorse didn't seek reelection.

  • District 16: Open

  • District 17: Incumbent Julie Gordon

  • District 18: Garth Seiler, James Ponzer and Philip Walker. A primary election will be held Feb. 15 to narrow the field to two candidates. Incumbent Bill Wingren didn't seek reelection.

  • District 19: Edward Demler and Bob Poeschl. Incumbent Larry Lautenschlager didn't seek reelection.

  • District 20: Incumbent Michael Norton and challenger Eric Vlach

  • District 21: Incumbent John Hinz

  • District 22: Incumbent Doug Zellmer

  • District 23: Incumbent Koby Schellenger

  • District 24: Incumbent Andy Buck and challenger Lorenz Scherzer

  • District 25: Open. Incumbent Karen Powers didn't meet the filing deadline. Powers and Lydia Lyons registered as write-in candidates.

  • District 26: Conley Hanson. Incumbent Susan Locke didn't seek reelection.

  • District 27: Incumbent Morris Cox

  • District 28: Nate Gustafson. Incumbent Jerry Finch didn't seek reelection.

  • District 29: Incumbent Rachel Youngquist

  • District 30: Incumbent Chuck Farrey

  • District 31: Joseph Connelly and Ralph Harrison. Incumbent Joel Rasmussen didn't seek reelection.

  • District 32: Incumbent Robert Keller and challenger Shanah Zastera

  • District 33: Incumbent Thomas Egan

  • District 34: Jeffrey Beem, John R. Hoeft II and Edward Jeziorny. A primary election will be held Feb. 15 to narrow the field to two candidates. Incumbent Thomas Ellis didn't seek reelection.

  • District 35: Heidi Henkel-Hanke. Incumbent Tom Snider didn't seek reelection.

  • District 36: Howard Miller. Incumbent Ben Joas didn't seek reelection.

Winnebago County Circuit judge (six-year terms)

  • Branch 3: Bryan Keberlein and Lisa Krueger. Incumbent Barbara Hart Key didn't seek reelection.

  • Branch 4: Incumbent LaKeisha Haase and challenger Mike Gibbs

  • Branch 5: Incumbent John Jorgensen

Wisconsin Court of Appeals (six-year term)

District 2 (includes Calumet and Winnebago counties): Incumbent Lori Kornblum and challenger Maria Lazar
