These candidates are running for contested school board seats in Erie County

Eight of Erie County's 13 public school districts have races for school board in the Nov. 7 municipal election.

Here's who's running in the contested races:

  • Erie School Board (5 available 4-year terms): Incumbents Gwendolyn Cooley, John Harkins, Sumner Nichols and Zakaria Sharif and newcomers Angie Amatangelo, Linda Graff and Troy Woodard.

  • Fairview School Board (5 available 4-year terms): Incumbents Pamela Liccardi, James Lyons Jr. and Lori Sobin and newcomers Geoffrey Grundy, Michael Naber, Carin Shollenberger and Emily Yochim.

  • Fort LeBoeuf School Board (5 available 4-year terms): Incumbents Robert Oberlander and Michael Rose and newcomers Paul Albrecht, James Dwyer IV, Benny Hunt, Scott Taylor and Renee Turi.

  • General McLane School Board, at large (2 available 4-year terms): Incumbents Carrie Crow and Kevin Webber and newcomers Chris Kovski and Mark Pifer. Region 2 (2 available 4-year terms): Incumbent Andrew Schulz and newcomers Mark Kernick and Ashley Olson.

  • Girard School Board (5 available 4-year terms): Incumbents Richard Brown, Sean Dunn, Joseph Meka and Melissa Smith and newcomers Christopher Davis and Brady Sager.

  • Harbor Creek School Board (5 available 4-year terms): Incumbents Terri Brink, Thomas Fortin and Jeffrey Willis and newcomers Ryan Cowser, Keith Farrell and Amy Parente.

  • North East School Board (5 available 4-year terms): Incumbents Charles Ferruggia and James Wargo and newcomers Glenn Craig, Mackenzie Luke, Katie Phillips and Alene Rohde.

  • Northwestern School Board (5 available 4-year terms): Incumbents Kristy Bolte, Shelly Rice, Sam Ring and Melissa Thatcher and newcomers Meghan Dalaba, Beth Hough, Amanda Kulyk and Trisha Pratt. (1 available 2-year term): Incumbents Kristy Bolte and Sam Ring.

Corry, Iroquois, Millcreek, Union City and Wattsburg school districts have just enough or not enough candidates for available school board seats.
