(FOX40.COM) — In the California primary election on March 5, four candidates are looking to get elected to the City Council’s District 2 seat.

Dan Wright is the current council member in the seat, but he is running for Stockton Mayor.

Here is who is running for the District 2 seat, which covers parts of the North Stockton area.

Pamela Pettis-Houston

Pamela Pettis-Houston is a business owner in the area, according to the San Joaquin County’s final qualified candidate list. A campaign website was not immediately available.

These are the candidates and measures on the San Joaquin County primary election ballot

Mariela Ponce

Mariel Ponce is a healthcare worker, according to the San Joaquin County’s final qualified candidate list. A campaign website was not immediately available.

Ponce was reportedly disqualified from the race, but was reinstated by a San Joaquin County judge following an error by the elections office inaccurately listing her as “not a registered voter.”

Waqar Rizvi

Waqar Rizvi is the chair of the Stockton Planning Commission and serves as the chair of the Salvation Army’s Stockton Advisory Council.

According to his campaign website, Rizvi governs 53 Rotary Clubs across the Central Valley.

Anthony Silva

Former Stockton Mayor Anthony Silva, who was embroiled in controversy during his time in office, announced his campaign in December. 

Silva served as Stockton’s mayor from 2013 to 2017 and ran for re-election, but lost to Michael Tubbs.
