Candidates seeking Davidson County and state offices enter races

The period for candidates seeking county and state offices, as well as, for Lexington City Schools Board of Education for the 2020 elections recently got underway.
The filing period for county, state and Lexington school board started runs through Dec. 17.
Due to the redistricting of voting wards in the city, filing for Lexington City Council does not begin until Jan. 3. The city council recently approved the new electoral ward map.
The following is a list of candidates in Davidson County and the offices they have filed for, as of Dec. 12:
