A candlelight vigil will be held in Palm Springs on Sunday to honor the people killed and wounded during the Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs last week.
Members of the LGBTQ community in the Coachella Valley and beyond have been mourning the massacre, which took place at an LGBTQ nightclub. The shooter killed five people and injured more than a dozen others. He is being held without bail following a court appearance Wednesday, and facing murder and hate crime charges.
Desert Stonewall Democrats is holding the vigil at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday on Arenas Road between Hunters and Blackbook. Local drag performer Sabryna Williams, Palm Springs Mayor Lisa Middleton, Palm Desert Councilmember Karina Quintanilla and other officials will speak at the event.
