Candler man arrested, charged with statutory rape

A Candler man has been charged by Asheville police with statutory rape, according to an arrest warrant filed at the county magistrate's office Oct. 14.

Antonio Deontraz Flack, 24, was booked into the Buncombe County jail on Oct. 13 for that charge, according to the jail’s online inmate listing. He is being held on a secured $250,000 bond.

The alleged offense happened in 2021, when the child was 15 years or younger, according to the warrant.

At press time, Flack was scheduled to make an appearance in Buncombe County District Court on Oct. 14. He did not have a defense attorney at press time, according to the court clerk’s office.
