Ryder Muninger and his Dewey High teammates deposited plenty of deuces and triples in the cash register of points during Friday's boys semifinal battle at the Caney Valley Invitational.

But, the Liberty High Tigers accumulated a bigger stash to pull out the win, 77-50, in Ramona.

Following are summaries of this and other some other CV games.

BOYS: Copan 64, Barnsdall 54

Levi VanSchuyver played like twin thunderbolts to help energize the Hornets to the seventh-place title at Caney Valley Invitational basketball tourney.

VanShuyver poured in 19 points - including 7-of-9 free throws - and grabbed 12 rebounds to deliver a double-double. Jarrett Shambles and Shooter Brewington added 16 points apiece, followed by Kane Foreman with 11.

Brewington buried 4-of-4 free throws.

But, it from beyond the arc the Hornets sparkled the brightest --nine treys in the first half and 13 overall.

Copan dusted off a defense (2-1-2 trap) it hadn't played in several weeks, noted Stacy.

Copan had to go to battle in the tourney without starting point guard Teagan Caron, who is healing from injury. He's still in a boot but might be back in uniform at week's end, Stacy said.

BOYS: Liberty 77, Dewey 50

Dewey rolled into this game like a whirlwind, powering to a 7-0 lead in the first few minutes.

But, Liberty whipped up some mighty impulsive zephyrs of itself to eventually take control and storm to victory.

Actually, the Doggers couldn't find an answer in shutting down Liberty's Jarren Cargill, who scored 32 points in three quarters.

For Dewey, Ryder Muninger dialed up four three-pointers on his way to leading the team in scoring.

Jeremiah Highsmith also displayed a hot hand.

Dewey opened the game's scoring with Zaiden Masters knocking down a three-pointer, off a cross-court pass from Jace Williams.

Colby Miller canned Dewey's next points, hitting two free throws stretch the lead to 5-0.

Muninger then dropped in a 15-footer off a spin move to bump Dewey to its biggest lead, 7-0.
