Jun. 11—GAYLORD — Cannon Falls' stellar late-season run came to an end on Thursday with a narrow 2-1 loss to top-seeded Belle Plaine in the Section 2AA baseball championship game.
Cannon Falls, the No. 6 seed, would have needed to win twice to earn a state berth against Belle Plaine, which finished unbeaten in section play.
"We did not get that done," Cannon Falls coach Bucky Lindow said.
