‘I Cannot Help You, Sir’: Crane Knocks on Office Door

A sandhill crane made a valiant effort to enter an office in Melbourne, Florida, knocking on the office door repeatedly while another crane peaked under a car.

Julie Taylor posted the footage on March 23, writing “now they are getting aggressive, sir, please stop,” in the TikTok caption.

“These birds come around every day,” Taylor told Storyful, adding “this day they just seemed obsessed with their reflection.” Sandhill cranes are known to damage window screens as a probable territorial response to seeing their reflections.

“The cranes stay for about 40 minutes every time, just hunting for bugs, teaching the littles how to forage for food,” Taylor said. “They will stop traffic to cross the street with no fear!”
