'We can't let this die down': The Tracy community's creative MLK Jr. Day event amid COVID-19 surge

A decades-long tradition of giving back to the community in the Tracy area of San Joaquin County was almost canceled again this year due to COVID-19, but creativity saved the day. Students and educators on Monday managed to host a Martin Luther King Jr. event like no other this year. It has been tradition to host an event in Tracy for 26 years, but COVID-19 concerns caused cancellations in 2020 and 2021. The event included a little bit of beans, roast meat and lots of love from Black student unions of Tracy high schools.
