Can't wait for Rockford's Fall ArtScene? Get an early start with Somnium

Rockford Fall ArtScene is right around the corner, but you don't have to wait until next weekend to immerse yourself in a truly unique and award-winning Rockford art experience.

"SOMNIUM: The Book of Water Myths and Legends" is a fully-immersive, outdoor new media art production opening Saturday night in downtown Rockford.

This year's event will not only feature local artists, but it also will showcase the talent of Rockford area high school students.

Created and directed by Eddaviel Montero and Emily Klonicki, SOMNIUM interweaves various artistic mediums from dance and flow arts, to theater, light projection, music and storytelling.

There will be two shows Saturday night — one at 8 p.m. and another at 9:30 p.m. Both will take place at 702 N. Madison St. Tickets are $22 a piece and can be purchased at mentesextremofilas.com/somnium.
