CANTON—Canton Main Street is happy to announce Edward Jones, Maggie Cecil – Financial Advisor as the January Spotlight of the Month. Maggie’s office with Edward Jones is located at 8 South Main Street, Suite 100, in downtown Canton.

Maggie grew up in Farmington and after buying a home a mile away from where her parents live, has decided that is where she will continue to grow her roots! She has always had a passion for helping people; that is why she became a Financial Advisor. She graduated from Spoon River College with her Associate Degree in business and later graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in finance. In the midst of the pandemic, she decided to pursue a new career and was hired by Edward Jones in 2020. Maggie then became a Financial Advisor in January, 2021.

The Edward Jones team helps individuals with long term investments, IRA’s, planning for retirement and other financial services. Maggie has the privilege to work with established Edward Jones teams right here in Canton, partnering alongside Rusty Melhouse and Greg Glomb, as well as two experienced Senior Branch Office Administrators, Kim and Holly.

Maggie loves living in a small town and having such a supportive community like Canton to serve. Maggie currently serves on the Farmington Area Public Library Board and is a member of the Farmington Booster Club, Farmington Chamber of Commerce, Canton Chamber of Commerce, Canton Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals and Canton Main Street. Serving through these organizations is a way she can give back to the communities that supported her growing up, while also being able to educate others on investing and the importance of a financial strategy.
