CANTON — Canton Main Street has announced Graham Health System is the May Spotlight of the Month.
In 1909, Alice and Carol Graham gifted the original structure of the hospital to the community. It was their belief a hospital was needed to better serve the Canton community. Since then, Graham Hospital has continually grown into the progressive comprehensive Health System we know today.

The last 100 plus years have included many renovations, building additions, as well as new construction to help keep the promise Graham was founded on, “Quality Care for All”.
In 2022, an era in which there are very few independent community hospitals remaining, Graham Health System remains a strongly independent Health System serving patients throughout Central and Western Illinois.

Graham Health System is an independently owned community hospital. Graham’s President and CEO, Robert G. Senneff, lives locally and has been leading the Health System since 2006. The Administrative team, Board of Trustees, and many members of the Medical Staff live local or participate in local committees and events to ensure engagement within the community.
Graham Health System consists of Graham Hospital, five Medical Group Clinics serving patients throughout Central and Western Illinois, Convenient Care – Urgent Care, Graham Home Medical Equipment, Graham Wellness Center, and the newly renovated and renamed Walnut Street Terrace Nursing Home located within the walls of Graham Hospital.

The Graham Health System Team supports many local charities and or civic boards by being active Board Members and contributing to the community.
Just within the past year, Graham Health System funded a $500,000 scholarship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria for the advancement of rural medicine and launched a scholarship program at Spoon River College with a $500,000 gift. The scholarships were created to help aspiring healthcare professionals to remain with or join the community.

Graham Health System recently added 1200 square feet of clinical space to their Graham Medical Group in Lewistown. The additional space will provide much needed space for a full time Family Practice provider in Lewistown. The expansion will also include additional parking spaces. Graham Hospital is currently adding four additional patient rooms to the Intensive Care Unit. The ICU will accommodate 10 patients once complete.
