Canton man, wife charged in shooting that seriously injured 36-year-old man

CANTON – A city couple was arrested Wednesday after the husband was accused of shooting a man several times leaving him fighting for his life. Police continue to investigate the shooting.

Errol Frank, 29, was charged with felony attempt to commit murder. His wife, Tricia Stevenson-Frank, 29, was charged with felony obstructing justice.

Canton police were dispatched to the 800 block of Rowland Avenue NE around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday for a shooting.

Officers found an unresponsive 36-year-old Canton man on a gravel driveway with gunshot wounds to his head and body, police said in a news release. Authorities didn't say what led to the shooting. Police indicated that the victim and Stevenson-Frank had been married.

City paramedics transported the victim to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives used the police department's camera system to identify and locate the suspects.

A search warrant was served on the Frank home in the 1900 block of Morris Avenue NE, police said.

According to the criminal complaint filed against Tricia Stevenson-Frank, she is accused of driving the shooting suspect from the scene and later lied to police about her involvement and knowledge of the shooting. The report indicated she later admitted to lying and provide investigators with additional information.
