SCHOOL ACTIVITIES – Cheerleading, track and cross country.

NOMINATION – "You can always count on Callie to have a smile on her face and brighten any room she enters. She truly has a servant's heart, as she is always willing to help anyone in the Middle School. Callie is very involved in student council and is always helping out with all of  the activities. Callie does a great job balancing her school work and extra curriculars. She works extremely hard on her school work and is really dedicated to the cheer program as well. We will really miss Callie's personality and brightness next year as she moves to eighth grade."

PLEASE TELL US WHY YOU PERFORMED THE ACT OF KINDNESS – I try to spread kindness at my school, because I want everyone to know that they are important.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE VIDEO GAME, BOOK OR TV SHOW? – My favorite book is "The Giver," by Lois Lowry. My favorite TV show is "The Office."

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP? – When I grow up, I would like to be a social therapist, because I would like to work with people and help them deal with problems they may have.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT SCHOOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE? – I would like it if our middle school offered more high school credits, especially a foreign language.

IF YOU COULD HAVE A SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND HOW WOULD YOU USE IT TO CHANGE THE WORLD? – If I could have a superpower, I would want my super power to be reading minds. I would use this to change the world, because I could correctly identify what people are feeling and know when something bad is about to happen.

ALLIANCE 

Jessalynn Ziegler, eighth grade, Alliance Middle School – Jessalynn helps students when they need assistance. She has a knack for checking on people when she senses something wrong and she is always willing to help anyone who needs help, often without prompting/asking.

Kai'Vion Thomas, eighth grade, Alliance Middle School – Kai'Vion is always willing to step up and lend a helping hand. He goes above and beyond for his classmates and is constantly looking out for others.

CANTON 

Charlie Brunk-Clark, fifth grade, McGregor – Charlie is a very hardworking, diligent student. Each day, she seems to improve her skill level with constant persistence. She is a great role model for others.

LeZavyon Thomas, fifth grade, Youtz – LeZavyon is an upbeat and positive person. He has an easy-going demeanor and yet works hard to do his best in school. I especially appreciate his honesty and willingness to share his thoughts.

CANTON LOCAL 

Ashlyn Myers, sixth grade, Faircrest Memorial Middle School – Ashlyn is diligent in completing her work and always asks clarifying questions when needed. She is kind to her peers, teachers, and staff and always comes to class prepared and ready to work! Ashlyn shows excellent character and is always helpful to others which is why we're happy to call her a Wildcat!

Calvin Bergert, sixth grade, Faircrest Memorial Middle School – Calvin has an impressive dedication to his academic pursuits and gives 110% to all of his learning. He is kind and considerate of others and displays many admirable character traits. We're lucky to call him a Wildcat!

FAIRLESS LOCAL 

Ashton Haney, sixth grade at Fairless Middle School – Ashton is a sweet young lady who is kind and helpful to both teachers and peers. Her work ethic is exceptional, as she works hard and strives for excellence in all her work. Ashton is truly a young lady who exemplifies all traits of good character each and every day!

Blake Gregorich, seventh grade at Fairless Middle School – Blake is a great student who cares about his work. He works well with others.

JACKSON LOCAL 

Hailey White, seventh grade, Jackson Memorial Middle School – Hailey White is an all-around amazing young woman who is kind and respectful to everyone. She always gives her best on every assignment, and the other students know they can look to her to be a leader.

Jack Boylan, sixth grade, Jackson Memorial Middle School – Jack Boylan is a model student of character. His gratefulness and humility toward the teachers and staff do not go unnoticed, and JMMS is a better place because of him.

LAKE LOCAL 

Ella Palinkas, eighth grade, Lake Middle/High School – Ella Palinkas is an exceptional student with an incredible approach to life. She is a kind and compassionate leader who deserves recognition for her leadership, her heart, and her personality. More than once this year she has been found coming alongside a peer to help them be a self-advocate, these peers truly will include anyone, showing how clearly Ella values all individuals.

Christian Cheronis, eighth grade, Lake Middle/High School – As a 13-year-old boy, Christian faced health concerns that quickly escalated from unknown illness and hospitalization, to a very serious diagnosis, to a transplant surgery. He has helped his family and community believe in miracles and been so strong by living by faith. His bravery has been inspirational to the community. Only four months later, he is back at school with a wonderful attitude that impacts everyone around him.

LOUISVILLE 

Payton Franks, eighth grade, Louisville Middle School – Payton Franks is another example of how attitude is contagious! She is kind and friendly to everyone she comes into contact with. She goes out of her way to be sure everyone has a friend and she is always willing to listen to and support her classmates.

Anderson Kandel, eighth grade, Louisville Middle School – Anderson Kandel has a very welcoming spirit.  He quietly observes others to be sure everyone in the lunch room has a place to sit.  He is always welcoming and reaches out to classmates to sit with him. The kindness makes a difference in the lives of his classmates.

MARLINGTON LOCAL 

Marisa Casto, sixth grade – Marisa is a fantastic young lady! Her work ethic and enthusiasm for learning is so refreshing. She always puts forth a great effort while being a kind young lady who helps her peers and works well with others. Marissa is definitely a great role model for her classmates.

Cole Bates, sixth grade – Cole is a very kind and caring young man. He is respectful and always willing to help when needed. He never leaves the room without saying goodbye and have a great day! He leads by example as he always pushes in all the chairs and tells you to have a good day before he leaves class. Cole is also a very conscientious student who works hard and is very diligent about his schoolwork. His smile lights up the classroom on a daily basis, helping to create a positive atmosphere for learning.

MASSILLON 

Teagan Frey, sixth grade, Massillon Intermediate School – Teagan is an all-around wonderful 6th grade student at the Massillon Intermediate School. Teagan is kind to both her teachers and her classmates. Teagan always gives her best efforts inside the classroom and takes responsibility for her learning. Teagan is always willing to help other classmates with their assignments. Outside the classroom, Teagan is passionate about softball & cheer and competes on a competition cheer team!

Cain Bianchi, sixth grade, Massillon Intermediate School – Cain serves as a wonderful role model to other students. Cain shows respect to both his teachers and his peers. Cain is always focused on his assignments and takes responsibility for his learning. Outside of the classroom, Cain is in the band and plays the French horn!

MINERVA 

Callie Yeagley, seventh grade, Minerva Middle School – You can always count on Callie to have a smile on her face and brighten any room she enters. She truly has a servant's heart, as she is always willing to help anyone in the Middle School. Callie is very involved in student council and is always helping out with all of  the activities. Callie does a great job balancing her school work and extra curriculars. She works extremely hard on her school work and is really dedicated to the cheer program as well. We will really miss Callie's personality and brightness next year as she moves to eighth grade.

Sam Speelman, seventh grade, Minerva Middle School – Sam is an intelligent, hardworking, and very funny young man. He strives to do well in his classes, asks thoughtful questions and is well liked by his classmates. He is going to be successful at whatever he puts his mind to!

NORTH CANTON  

Abigail Potashnik, seventh grade, North Canton Middle School – Abigail Potashnik is an extremely reliable leader in the classroom. She is an excellent student who often goes beyond expectations when completing assignments. She works well with others and is conscientious about the high quality of her work. She is always kind and helpful to others. Abby is involved with a number of extracurricular activities where she also excels and pursues excellence.

Harrison Fleishour, seventh grade, North Canton Middle School – Harrison Fleishour is an all-around leader. He does well academically, and always has a smile on his face. He is quick to answer class discussion questions and to work with others in a group. Because he is involved in a wide variety of activities outside of school, Harrison is a well-rounded kid. His natural curiosity makes him a leader in the classroom.

NORTHWEST LOCAL 

Alicia Henson, Northwest Middle School – Alicia is a kind and responsible young lady who achieves excellent grades. She has been a member of the basketball and track teams, and plays in the middle school band. The oldest of two girls, Alicia hopes to attend college after high school, but is undecided about her future career.

Drew Tirbovich, Northwest Middle School – Drew is a happy young man who treats others kindly and loves being at school. He is a member of the football, basketball and track teams, and loves playing outside with his younger brother and his family dogs. After graduation, he hopes to attend the University of Akron and one day be a police officer.

OSNABURG LOCAL   

Meghan Steigerwald, seventh grade, East Canton Middle School – Meghan is a shining example of leadership and a model student for all that know her. Meghan is a student that is always willing to tackle a challenge. She does a great job at being involved in her school and community as you can find her active on the golf course, a member of student council, taking care of animals on her family's hobby farm, and even participating in her local church youth group. After a major recent injury and surgery, Meghan still has shown up to school with a beaming smile on her face and ready to face each day with a fresh perspective. We are so proud of her and the tenacity she has shown this year, especially during this particular nine weeks.

Mason Rinehart, seventh grade, East Canton Middle School – Mason knows no stranger as he is a friend to all. He is a very involved athlete as you can see him on the football field, basketball court, and even running on the track. His leadership skills might be quiet, but his actions are mighty as he knows what it is like for others to look up to him, especially being an older brother. Mason takes a ton of pride in being another generation of hornet in his family and he is always willing to help anyone in need. We look forward to more success from Mason in the future both academically and athletically.

PERRY LOCAL   

Natalia Jacoby, Edison Middle School – Natalia is such a positive force here at Edison. She is always so cheerful and kind to everyone; she is truly a joy! Natalia gives 100% effort all of the time and shows grit and determination in all she takes on.

Colton Childress-VanMeter, Genoa Elementary – Colton is a leader in our classroom. He is respectful, compassionate, kind and always willing to help his peers and teachers. He sets high expectations for himself and takes pride in his work.

PLAIN LOCAL  

Lyla Karam, Avondale – Lyla is an amazing student! She is kind and compassionate towards others. Her teachers can always rely on Lyla to do the right thing! She is one of our Fierce Females and sets such a wonderful example for others as a leader at Avondale.

Owen Holmes, Warstler – Owen is a kid of character for so many reasons. He is always kind and thinks of others before himself. He works very hard in school and completes all of his work on time. He always follows the SOAR model and is a wonderful example for others. Owen is a responsible citizen of our school, and a friend to everyone.

SANDY VALLEY

Leah Phillips, sixth grade, Sandy Valley Middle School – Leah is a responsible, caring student who goes above and beyond for everyone. Leah wants to "spread kindness around Sandy Valley" and she does this daily! Outside of school, Leah participates in soccer. Leah truly demonstrates what it means to be a Kid of Character!

Hudson Woods, sixth grade, Sandy Valley Middle School – Hudson is a leader in and outside of the classroom. He participates in baseball while maintaining high academics at Sandy Valley. Hudson likes do to outdoor activities with his family including camping! Hudson is a true Kid of Character!

TUSLAW   

Makayla Beckham, sixth grade – She has served as the student manager in work study for the 3rd 9 weeks. She was able to display leadership skills, teamwork, responsibility and passion for her team. She has grown a lot this year and will continue to be a leader!

Cael Nofsinger, fifth grade – Cael is always happy, cheerful and positive. He is ready and willing to help anybody in need and brings a smile to those around him.
