Cantonment man gets 10-year sentence following plea deal in child porn possession case

Before a jury could be selected for his trial, a Cantonment man took a plea deal Monday morning in his child porn possession case.

Patrick Taylor Wynn pleaded no contest and was adjudicated guilty on 10 counts of possession of child pornography, and in return the Office of the State Attorney did not prosecute an additional nine counts of child porn possession, one count of possessing a controlled substance without a prescription and one count of drug equipment possession.

Judge Coleman Robinson sentenced Wynn to 127.5 months, just over 10.5 years, of imprisonment. Since Wynn has been incarcerated in the Escambia County Jail since his arrest on July 28, 2020, Robinson gave him 785 days of credit.

Wynn's roommate, Ian Lopez, was also charged with 20 counts of child porn possession, but took a plea deal in December 2021 giving him a 10.63-year sentence.

Both Lopez and Wynn were arrested by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office on July 28, 2020, after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip about the upload of child pornography from an IP address linked to a residential address in Escambia County.

After ECSO deputies executed a search warrant, they uncovered 20 videos of child porn depicting boys between the ages of 5 and 15, according to an arrest report.
