Canyon County collisions near Parma leave two dead, three hospitalized on Saturday
Two separate vehicle crashes near Parma in Canyon County left two people dead and three hospitalized on Saturday, Idaho State Police reported in news releases.
A 57-year-old man from Nyssa, Oregon, was driving a Ford Mustang east on U.S. 20 with a 94-year-old male passenger, also from Nyssa, when the driver failed to yield at a stop sign about 1:54 p.m., police said.
The Mustang collided with a Ford pickup driven by a 20-year-old woman from Weiser heading south on U.S. 95.
The two Oregon men died at the scene, police reported. The woman was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
Police also responded to a two-vehicle injury crash later Saturday north of Parma, where a 63-year-old Parma man driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup was heading east on Klahr Road. Police said he stopped at a stop sign before attempting to cross U.S. 95. As he crossed, his truck was hit by a Honda Accord driven by a 22-year-old Nampa man heading north. Another 22-year-old man from Nampa was a passenger.
Both people in the Honda were taken to a local hospital by air ambulance.
Police closed highway lanes for about three hours after the first crash and over an hour after the second.
